No36 Mills bomb firing franken No4

Afternoon all,

Asking for a friend, these seem to be cropping up around the place at the moment, does anyone know anything about them?

Various No4 makers, cut down, fitted with a No5 butt and No36 cup, ishy type reinforcement cross bolt and wire bound...

My thoughts are Rhodesia or Pakistan. doesn't appear to be Indian, no RFI makings on them that you would expect if Indian converted..

Any thoughts guys?

They are advised as Mills bomb launchers, is the tear gas cannister the same sort of dimensions?

Yes they do. It would about fit flush and then you pull pin and send it. It would only arm as the lever came clear...like the others did...

Perhaps Police rather than Army in one of those countries?

The Indians still use them.

Yes I was about to say, that is a typical Indian Army REME trick, copper wire tightly bound to hold weaknesses together, and the proper NO 5 kit As below:

Two posts up there is a picture of a No.5 Mk.1 with a launcher tube on it.
There was a request for info on one that was found as a relic at Pegasus Bridge in France.
Does anyone remember if there was a response or any information on it show up.
I do not believe it was a "one of" and looking to find out some info on it.
Can supply any markings off the rifle you might need.
