    So many men...armed against civilians. My “uneasiest” feeling since service...
    Never liked the idea of the Army inland. Raising my loaded and chambered rifle against civilians really left some bad memories in me. Even if that guy was a real asp””hole, trying to ridicule us in public.
    The problem, at least for us, was that in case of real trouble, you knew perfectly well, that you’d be left alone. Uneasy feeling!!!

    I had a case of "Aid to the Civil Power", which was taking over penitentiary guard. That was so hard to stomach, they weren't average citizens. Just handling unhappy civilians would have been worse, yes you'd be cut loose.
