    1909 Hooked Quillon Bayonet

I gave the bayonet collection a clean and oil at the weekend and thought members might like to see my Hooked Quillon Bayonet.
It was manufactured at Enfield in January 1909 and marked to The Kings Royal Rifles. Scabbard is original Mk1 also 1909 dated with internal chape

I had a nice one years back that came as a gift from a friend for me graduating a course in the army...1988... I let it go with the rifle and all the blades together...for $600 CDN back in about '96 I think. Still, those blades hadn't hit their peak price by then... I miss the stuff I used to have.

Those are all exceptional looking blades. Very nice.
    Regards, Jim

Isn't that the case so often....................I did the same with my 4T I sold it totally complete original CES to a guy whose family housed me in Arnhem for a few years on our annual pilgrimage when I could hold at least 10 pints a night.
Miss that rifle and all the bits and pieces which oozed history!

I started to collect anything to do with the KINGS ROYAL RIFLES when I bidded and won a telescope with a famous Officers name on it, which I have mentioned with photos before so if you are interested you can search the site for it.
He was Lt Colonel Humphrey Francis William BIRCHAM DSO who was killed in action near Pozierre on July the 23rd 1916 in WW1, he was CO of the 2nd Battalion of a very famous Regiment.
