    Side note on the steel helmet...if you're wearing all the winter stuff you delete the liner and just use the shell. Then it fits perfectly and still provides the fragmentation protection it's supposed to. Most importantly, it doesn't look like a bell on top your mellon...

    If he had a heavy tree branch land on top of his helmet he'd probably never get that helmet off because it would be permanently rammed on fully.
