I cant find a COJ manufacturer code. Can you get a photo of the marking? It would help others to research it for you and your friend.

Lousey photo but I'm pretty sure what appears to be "COJ" is really a poorly struck dou, the wartime code for the Waffenwerk Bruenn AG factory in occupied Czechoslovakiaicon.

Correct on both counts . Was talking with some folks on CMPicon forum and came to believe the stamp used was worn pretty bad and what looked like "c" "o" "j" is really "d" "o" "u" .
