Ross Model 1910-E Sporter, 303 Ross Cal.

I've attached a advertisement for a Ross Model 1910-E Sporter, 303 Ross Cal.
    What a heartache!

I've only ever seen one rifle modified like this - it was for John T. Amber, former Editor of Gun Digest. The modification is so that a right handed shooter can shoot with the left eye, after the right eye has been damaged. Pretty much takes this one out of the collector category unless the previous owner was a VIP, or, the shooter category, without major repairs/restocking.

By the by, is it sitting on the hood of an old Pontiac Firebird?

Sad indeed, and the dollop of liquid wood behind the receiver doesn't help either. Neither does the fact it has been drilled--my initial thought was that it would be good for my 1910E that has a terrible bore and was also drilled but has a nice stock, but unless the barrel was good on this one and could be swapped for someone with a 10-E that has a poor bore it is pretty much a truck gun for a lefty.

    Definitely a nice looking car.....

The Model 1910-E is hard to come by - congrats. This is the first one I've seen up for sale. Only the third I've seen in pictures.
