    Sanded GAW Stock

I bought a 3,260,XXX garand about 8 yrs ago. Sanded Stock, grooved rear handguard clip, barrel, bolt, serial number rear sight matched, uncut 9 SA op rod. The Stock was covered in gunk when I got it, but Murphys Oil Soap and .0000 steele wool cleaned it. Once it was cleaned, I noticed these holes on the right side that lined up like puncture marks from a full enbloc clip being slapped against the side of the rifle. The rifle was heavily sanded, so think of how many there would be if it werent sanded. OK guys, please dont jump too hard but couldnt these lead one to believe this rifle was actually in combat?
