WW1 Foot locker
Hi,i would like to know if somebody have any information about this old foot locker ?,year 1915 is scribe on it,its not made of plywood,solid wood,thanks

That is what we would call in Scotland a "kist" or chest.. It is what you kept your valuables in the days before locks on doors and reasonably secure houses. They were commonly used to store bed linen, although the lock on your one is probably overkill for that.
This is the origin of the foot locker, which achieved basically the same thing in a barrack room, but I think the one you illustrate is too large and flashy for a foot locker. I would think it is a domestic chest, still in use in the early 20c, particularly in rural settings. I would also think a chest such as this would be useful if you were moving from place to place and sending possessions by cart or rail.

I'd bet it isn't military. Like bombdoc says, it's too big. The troopies didn't get that much stuff issued. A 'domestic chest' makes a lot more sense.
