    Covid Positive, things to watch...

Afternoon Ladies &Gents, At least one member knows, but I recently tested positive for Covid 19, I'm ok slight cough still, but out of isolation now, other household family members all ok, main concern has been my Daughter who suffers from Asthma.

For all the main symptoms, I have them every time with a bad cold, start with a sore throat, sniffles, head cold and normally loose taste, smell for several days and basically feel like crap.

This happened a few weeks back as wife and monster in law were bad, got tested and were negative, I can catch a cold by opening a door so the inevitable was going to happen, I caught there cold and turned into what I get at least twice a year, always the same pattern, by the time I lost taste and smell too late to get tested but as they tested negative can only put it down to a bad cold.

So at the end of that and regaining my strength I continued on my demolition to make room for new extension, a few days into this and I was clearing my throat a lot and got worse, late evening taking a deep breath I knew there was something wrong , didn't feel too tight but I could tell something wasn't right, a day later developed a cough and headache, cough was out the blue at times but very irritable, a few spells of this and I booked a test, I could only get a home kit test as my nearest drive in was miles away according to Gov web site, yet there are two drive inns and several walk inns about 15 mins away from me.
kit arrived next day (Sunday) completed test and sent off on the Monday results back on Wednesday morning ........Positive.

I don't know where when as we have been so carefull, after a shop I place everything in boot of car then clean hands , credit card, car keys, door handles steering wheel, gearstick hand brake and hands again. (even clean dogs paws after a walk)

At home , all shopping gets a clean with suitable spray and wipe or soap and water.

Been so careful since the start I couldn't believe it, I genuinely thought it was just dust from the demolition, obviously not.

I can only guess I'd let my guard down at some point, or and I think its probably the main contact was through picking Daughter up from school as she will always grab my hand, even though she uses a sanitiser then sanitise hands when she gets in car....... possible of one of her friends after the first sanitise.

Luckily it was mild for me, apart from the cough starting up at anytime after a few days it receded to occasional, tight chest went in a matter of days.

There are a so many different symptoms now I would recommend anyone with anything out the blue to get a test....... I'm just happy I'm out of isolation as I only had three bottles of beer left........

Glad you're on the rebound. My niece was down for the better part of a month, so I know it's ugly.

Cheers John and Thanks to all the other members, John you were the "Member " I mentioned, still a bit tired at times, but just happy no hospital visit (Hope your dads Ok ?) I've only posted here as it seems to hit home more if you know someone, certainly caught me with my "pants down" but just to let anyone know my symptoms, Gov web sites haven't got enough and don't have enough info yet.

I've other family members (not my household) who have suffered quite bad, more respiratory than anything else, but It wasn't from them I got it from, my Nephew has vomiting at both ends and his girlfriends family.

It is taking hold of Liverpool for sure, but I'm convinced it was part schools, bars and restaurants that have given the high rise, an example of the stupidity of parents in my Daughters School, on the first week of the new term no one apart from myself, Daughter and a Chinese woman and her child had masks, not one ounce of sense either regarding distance..........
Its as if it had blown over, more now its blown up.

So stay safe Ladies and Gents, I'm not saying to start prepping but, do make sure you have enough beer.......

Its certainly catching folk out, but at the same time other nasties are still out there, Flu, Colds etc,

I'm in a fairly low risk area, but we get a lot of people here from London at the weekend, they stick out like the proverbial bull dogs dangling bits!

Few bother with masks and cough, shout and fill the pavement with zero social distance....

    Typical big city attitude.

    Ticking bloody time bomb....

    Geoff,
Great to hear you have fought through it mate and hope your daughter and other family members miss it completely.
Worrying times, especially, like us, when you take so much care on cleaning things down "continually"!!

    Indeed.

The capacity for stupidity within the general public has no bounds, I was saying to friends back in July/Aug that by November we'll be in deep do-dah because people with barely half a brain, can't grasp the simple facts about social distancing, as evidenced by the numbers of people desperate to jump on a plane and go abroad and party as if everything was back to normal.
I was told I was over reacting......

True, but its also the bigger problem of them being super-spreaders, and the 'belief' among many of the young that they re immune from it as a result.

A friend of mine who's son is currently at Uni, told me last month, that one of his son's ex-school friends died from it - so, that has shocked his son into changing his view of how he needs to protect himself while at Uni now.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

You are right there, kids take a lot of looking after when they are ill. Been there done that and glad my two are in their 40's.
    "Still need looking after"

Glad you're ok anyway...this shows us that all the precautions are for naught. If you're going to get it, you're going to get it... Glad you're on the mend.

Yes. My neighbour was together with two customers who were positive and landed in an ICU and didn’t get it. Others care about everything, like Geoff, and get it.
One of my “blood brothers”, a guy who played 15 years with me (I was middle linebacker and he played nose guard/defensive tackle, got into ICU today. I’m horribly worried...
    Damned thing!
Geoff, glad you’re getting out. But don’t get caught with insufficient reserves anymore!!!
