    1936 Gardone Valtrompia M91 carbine

Ran across this M91 Carcano carbine today at the gun show, and naturally it followed me home. It's a maker I have to admit I hadn't heard of...Gardone Valtrompia. 1935 and XIII marking. Crown over 'RE'. Trapdoor on the buttplate is stuck shut, will try to get it open tomorrow, sounds like there may be rods in there.
Been on a Carcano buying spree lately, I think they're an underrated arm.

Very nice! As we speak I just ordered a M91 Carbine from a dealer as to what it will be I asked for Pre-WWI or WWI and if that wasn't available to go for best condition. In Canadaicon the price on them (and everything else) has gone up significantly recently, but maybe these unique firearms are finally getting the respect they deserve.

Lots of history to them, tons of variants, quite a few manufacturers, could easily make a very interesting collection out of them!

Bunch of Carcano's coming into the States from Ethiopia. I haven't bought any recently. Still looking for a cavalry carbine in 7.35 and an M41.
