    enfield #4mk2 HELP

this rifles receiver is marked on the top Parker Hale .it has P.H. sights, sling loop and the muzzle says AOP Ball Burnshed. I have not found any info on it. Did P.H. build target rifles on .303 Enfields ?

No, they did modify standard No.4's for the old Service Rifle B competitions, which is what this one looks to have been done for?
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

That would be AGP for AG Parker on the muzzle. Ball Burnishing has been discussed elsewhere

    Thousands of them.

Very nice rifle, with a very late production receiver. Should be very accurate if set up properly.

Where did you find it, in N.Y. or overseas?

Parker-Hale were also issued with a block of serial numbers to use on their No.4 SR"b" rifles, my own is dated 1949 yet bears a serial number from around 1952~53.
I've now seen 4 or 5 of these with a number range within 10 or so of my rifle.
