I don't want to get your Hopes Up but this Guy who wants one of my Carbines has a couple S'G' Carbines with Flippers. If he has what you like I will give you his email and y'all make a deal.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Well, you're not ever going catch up with me, because mine's on Friday. I'm getting a 68 year old Ford Parts Manual and there's a frozen cake in the freezer - that's all I need!

I only have 4 flip sights and they've been on the same Carbines since they were built - the B-IP has had some windage adjustments with a hammer and punch, but don't think it's ever been clear off.

Your buddy in MN shows a few "rare" flips in his catalog at $165 and seems to have an endless supply, but probably not as nice as the one you pictured. Maybe you just need to "age" the grease on that one a bit?

If you had the Ford, you'd need to put another 40-50K into it and then you wouldn't be able to use it for anything. Parts are hard to find too, I sold most of what I had left to a guy in IN about 9 years ago. Remember too, all straight cut gears in the tranny with no synchos. Paid $75 for it nearly 48 years ago - not ready to sell it yet!

Frank's ID? I'd say he's probably looks a bit older than that now, but the pic matches the opinion I've formed of him over the past several years.

    Enjoy your B-Day! - Bob

My claim to fame is I was born on Dec 12, Different year but same as Frank Sinatra but unfortunately also Bob Barker
My Wife had a Co-worker that was on The Price is Right who said during breaks that Barker was a Rude F-cker.

    From a online source:
People born on December 12 are endowed with sharp intuition, confidence and intelligence. They are obsessive perfectionist and aim to make the most out of opportunities.
This explains the presence of heightened personality traits of those with this birthdate.

Oh yea... That's me, but funny no mention of my Modesty !!

I'd yank that Flat head and granny tranny out of there ASAP. Putting in a small block chevy mated up to a saginaw tranny... that just happen to be sitting married together on a pallet out in the back garage.

That's why you won't be getting this one! I think the only Chevy part on it is the air cleaner. One of my buddies has a NAPCO Chev 3/4 Ton - Mine's a Marmon-Herrington 1/2 Ton. The picture below (35 years ago) is of us having a "slow race" - he won!

Now, I'm afraid to look up what the Internet has to say about my birthday. Better leave it at that! - Bob
