    Avro 504 pleasure flights

This privately owned, ex RAF, Avro 504 is believed to be flying from Clacton-On-Sea aerodrome (?) and was one of the aircraft that my late grandmother flew in as a passenger in the 1920's. It is believed that some Avro 504's, in civilian ownership, were converted to carry 2 passengers for pleasure flights.

On one occasion my Gran's brother had a "secret bet" with the pilot that he wouldn't be able to make my Gran scream during the flight with my Gran as passenger. The pilot tried every aerobatic manoeuvre known to man in a vein attempt to get my gran to scream but lost the bet.
