    This picture was in a Time Life magazine I had as a kid, and something about it, I really liked. I've been searching for it for years, and am saving it to a folder now. Thank you!

    I seem to remember reading he was with the 504th, but they would have pulled out to Englandicon well before 27 May.

    They weren't an issue for JUST jumpers, they were for common issue. I doubt he's a jumper. Here's a bit of reading about it. WW II Combat Boots.

    I guess it could be more accurately stated that jumpers got stuck being issued those at times. They changed them as soon as the Corcoran's came available though.
