    New to me ChiCom SKS

Trying to figure this one out - looks like perhaps a later derivation of the 306 factory code - serial is in the 23 range (guessing late 1970’s , likely 78 or 79 perhaps)?

At any rate - found this lovely little lady today for sale locally.

UNFIRED ChiCom SKS, pre-ban. Bayonet and sling still in original packaging, original box and manual from Keng’s included as well!

The rifle is 100% matching serials, in brand new condition - still covered in what is now slightly discolored factory oil.

Just a couple of pics to start - more to come.

I haven’t owned an SKS since 1999 and am admittedly a little out of my element here (an SKS was my very first rifle purchased as an adult).

This one is minty and I’m fighting everything telling me not to shoot it...lol. But alas it will stay virgin for now.

Any info greatly appreciated if possible.

Stripped to see overall condition of everything - appears never fired (not even test fired) as best I can tell....

Yep. You've got a 23rd year carbine (1978) from arsenal /306\. Looks like all the import accessories are with it-- sling, bayonet, cleaning kit. Yes?

    It's a mil-spec carbine, re-purposed for commercial sale overseas.

    Very nice!

Cleaning kit was in the buttstock where it belongs and is complete as well!

    Stolen by today’s standards!

The original owner picked this one up, sealed in-box, in 1986. It’s interesting that it basically sat in a rack/warehouse for essentially 8 years prior to being shipped here for commercial sale!

My favorite part - no import stamps!
