L42's sold to Dince Hill
One of the latest L42s I just purchased has this label on the chest

Hi Simon. Most of the transit chests I had bore those labels..............Dince Hill received them from the MoD & sold the L42's to Charnwood Ordnance. I was told by Charnwood that they were allowed to buy them on the understanding that they would be exported. Charnwood complied with the letter of the law, & then re-imported 60 of them from Canada for both their collection & for domestic sale!

The ones I imported were also labeled as yours. Same batch of rifles from C.O. of course except via Canada.

There is an amazing number of those around in Germany as they were retailed by Frankonia. There might be a small FWW (written top to bottom) somewhere on your rifle.

At least it looks like most of the surplused L42's went to Dince Hill then sold on from there.
