You could cruise Gun Broker for prices...if you don’t sell on Gun broker, drop it by 15%-20% and post it here

It’s best to post a few pictures to gauge condition. It’s also helpful to know how much of the rifle matches. Does the bolt and internal serial numbers match the receiver? What arsenal/series is it.

Another thing...the mum is usually canceled (with smaller circle stamping) if it was removed from service and used for training.

    Oh my God...
I'd love that rifle, but there is a small pond between us.
Give her to someone who'll take care of her like I would, please.

I’d throw a price at you but I already have two type 38 rifles. Both have mums, one is a complete match except my disco cover is off by 40 numbers. The other has a nicer stock, it’s older but has a few mismatched parts. Plus my safe is full...maybe I should get another safe!

I would be interested in what you are asking for this rifle, if you do decide to sell it. I don't have a single Japaneseicon rifle in my collection so this would be a nice start.

usabaker, this is a exceptional rifle, heavy rifling and lots of history with it. I will try to post pictures if i can learn how. lol. This rifle looks like it was just off the lines. full functtional and almost perfect. lol i would rather this rifle go back to its country of origin but would consider someone who appreciates history .

I think the gun laws in Japan would prohibit it, but if you like I know a few Japaneseicon nationals in Japan and I can ask if there is a way to return the rifle. I'm big on history BUT, the reason I'm interested in the rifle is because my Grandfather and uncle fought in the pacific war. My Grandfather landed on the Island of Tinian, Saipan, and Guam (SEABEES); One uncle (US Army) was on the Philippine Island of Cebu fighting as a Gurellia after the US forces were overrun. I had another uncle (US ARMY) fighting in the European campaigns.

I doubt that I could afford such a rifle in all honesty.

I've got a T38 that my uncle liberated we they came ashore in New Guinea. He and my pops we in the 1st Filipino Regiment, Alamo Scouts. My uncle, Al, gave it to me in 1960, and like a stupid kid, I cut the barrel and stock. I've just located the parts to clone a short rifle and salvage some honor for my uncle. Of all my wood & steel, this is one of my most cherished possessions. PAX
