    22 TRAINER

So i don`t know much about these but have an opportunity to purchase a BSA #2 MK IV* made in 1918 looks to be complete and intact except for the added rear sight? Like i said i know nothing. This rear site doesn`t appear to be just a aftermarket add. i think it has arsenal markings on it. I would love any input. What is the FAIR price for one of these in the US? I have been very interested in this rifle and just want to know has the rear sight hurt the value or added? Also are the stamped over marks remnants of a past life?

It looks O.K., but check it against this post courtesy of Rifleman.Ok.Uk

Looks legit to me. The rear sight is Canadianicon and likely original. Are there any c broad arrow marks on the rifle?

Seller is asking $650 US seems high to me but i know nothing about these rifles. The only c broad arrow stamp i have seen is on the sight. Unit tags have been replaced with 1960 US quarter dollars. (at Least they are silver) Thanks for the replies.

The price would be very good here.
I'm lucky if I can find one at 700 € with normal sights.

As I have begun to research more I see the price does not seem too out of line. I really like the rifle. I might have to make it a part of the family. I don`t currently own any UKicon Rifles and i think this one would be a fun cheap one to shoot.

In Franceicon this would be around 1,000 Euros, so about 1200 US dollars. the rear sight is an added bonus! A good investment for sure.
These are great fun to shoot; and normally quite accurate.
Great family days at the range with these .22's; my daughter loves shooting our 1918 SMLE .22

Thanks For the input guys. I guess I should have listed this on the small bore page but I guess this one spans both. I am going to have a small 10hr round trip to visit my nephew who has shown me this one at a small shop near his home. Have to include some ice fishing while I`m there. Hope to be an Enfield owner soon.

Your rifle was built as a No1 Mk111*, some time after 1926 it was converted to a No2 Mk1V*
