    1917 Winchester Butt Plate

Hello all, I'm finishing a 1917 Winchester and the only piece I need is the butt plate. What is the correct finish for the winchester butt plate? Black or brass or?
    Thanks,

    Mike

To my knowledge the original Winchesters were blued none were parkerized during WWI. Later re-built ones probably with parkerized finish.

Greetings, I just bought a 1917 from CMPicon today. Its all ES except for the stock and the butt plate. The plate has "W" stamped on it. If you happen to have one with "E" stamped on it, I would trade you for it.
