    Mystery part

I bought a lot of P14 parts recently, and this mystery part was with it.
I'm pretty new to P14s, but this doesn't look like one of its parts to me. Anybody recognize it?

A few more photos would help.

Indeed, but it has not arrived and won't for some time.
Here is the only other photo I have, which shows the other side of the part.

A Wild and Hairy guess would be grenade launcher sight base. Mind you, it's possible it has nothing to do with a P-14. Buying boxes of stuff can be like that.

You can say that again. I bought a big box full of small boxes (typical LE parts boxes, springs, screws etc) but one box confused me as to what they were, I asked here and was informed that they were :

Small 'buttons' that push into the sides of display cabinets, a glass shelf sits on top of them (one in each corner)

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Have seen an inked(?) inspection mark like that on some REL products.

    Thanks chaps,
Yeah, there were a couple of definitely non-P14 parts in the photos of the lot, so it could be totally unrelated. I've been exploring grenade launcher accessories, but haven't found a match yet. I agree that part of it looks a bit like a volley sight and it has a screw to attach it to something. When it finally arrives I'll report back.

    Cheers,
    Burton
