Military Training Chart- The Lewis Gun. Poster-New Zealand

Well, I do not recall the history of this poster. I have owned it since around 1980. Can't readily find another thru an internet search. It is printed one side, black ink on off white paper. Nothing glossy or slick. It feels (and looks) period, like prior to WWII? The drawing seem reminiscent of WWI or after, say the 20's or 30's? In the lower right hand, bottom, it is simply stated "Copyright in New Zealand" with no date.

Size is 20" wide by 14" tall. A small area of bugs enjoying paper on the bottom left edge.

Anybody seen one of these before? Any idea of price or value?

Those posters were printed here in WW2 for Home Guard training. Originals were printed on heavy paper with a cotton mesh backing. Examples also exist for the Thompson (2 sheets), Bren, and SMLE. The Lewis was obsolete by WW2 and they were only used by the Home Guard. The value of your poster here is $50-60 if original. some have been reprinted in recent years on plain heavy paper which lacks the cotton mesh backing.

Right, no cotton mesh, so possibly a reprint? The paper seems naturally aged. I bought it back around 1980's I suspect (or whenever eBay was getting going) and I think it may have come to me from New Zealand? I kept no documentation on the purchase.

I will probably just put on MilSurps for a little while, then migrate to Gun Broker or possibly even eBay...from whence it came.
