    Love to see some pics though. If it's dressed like a carbine and falls in the middle of a vast sea of rifle numbers...we should at least have a look?

    Here you go, from my research which doesn't mean much it was manufactured in 1881 and there were 501 Carbines produce that year also it appears it was the last year of the Model 1873 stamped breech because the next year the Carbine was produced was 1884 and I believe the breech was stamped Model 1884?

    looks like a nice carbine and there are some in that range in SRS book number 3. 146065 or 146670. Sorry to say yours is not listed. Hope this helps.
