    Question SA marked Terni, HELP

Now just let me say up front, the only reason I bought this gun was to have a representative Italianicon rifle in the collection and it was really cheap due to a bad bore. I spent about four days on the bore and it came out just fine. I don't have much printed material on the gun so I need some help here: It has a 20" barrel, fixed sights, 7.35 caliber, Crown stamped with an A and 17 stamped over it. It's dated 1939, serial #N5153, all matching, Terni stamped on it twice, I can't find the import stamp, and while getting it ready for the pics I found the SA in a rectangle indicating a Finnishicon lend gun. Can any body help me out with this one and does it have any value, Best Regards-SDH

Leading up to WW2 Italyicon was in the process of changing from 6.5 Carcano to 7.35 cal. the war broke out before the switch could be made practically, so the 7.35's were shelved and the 6.5 went back into mass production as huge stores of ammo already existed in Italy.

Finlandicon was hard up for arms at the time and couldn't remanufacture Mosins fast enough, so they bought the 7.35's from Italy, being that they were sort of an axis country.

Your rifle is one of those

After the war, Finland surplused the carcanos and went back to using Mosins almost exclusively.

Finland also used a whack of Arisakas.

Oh boy, now I gotta check them, I guess it's worth a peek. I already moved the gun into the Finnishicon section, just for the heck of it. My brother in law is going to rib me hard on this one,-SDH
