Arisaka Trainer - Does anyone have insight into this rifle?

I just received an Arisakaicon training rifle. It was advertised as a type 99, but I'm not sure now that I have it in hand.
The serial number is 85. Stamped on the receiver, bold and firing pin. No other markings.
The receiver is larger than a typical 99 receiver.
Looks like at some point there was a duffel cut repair.
Any insight is welcome as I'm not sure what I have.

Beaded in what I see in the pictures, this is a training rifle, not a Type 99.

It has what appears to be mixed features of a Type 30 and Type 38. More so a Type 30 with a Type 38 bolt. The single vent is like that of a Type 99 not not much else. The trigger guard assemble looks like a Type 30, floor plate releases is like a Type 30/38, front sight looks like a Type 30 and the rear sight maybe a late type 30 but I can’t remember the correct max distance mark.

    Smooth or rifled bore?

Is the follower spring a spiral wire or flat “W” spring?

Pretty sure it’s a type of training rifle, just not sure what type...some shot blanks, some shot wooden bullets, some were older derives rifles removed from service to be used for training and can still fire live rounds...but highly doubt this is one of them. So yeah, don’t shoot it!

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful.

Thanks J-Rod - It's definitely a training rifle. The barrel is smooth bore. From comparing online it looks like 1 type 38 trainer (it was sold as a 99)

On another topic - did you manage to get those AA springs lookled at?
