    Can anyone tell me the date of manufacture on my 1899 Kragicon carbine?
    Ser. 857070..

    Your sn is incorrect. Much too high. Production ended in 1903 at #474693 according to Poyer.

    U.S. Model 1899 Kragicon carbines fall in the 200K and 300K serial number ranges.

    It is most likely you have misread the first digit as an 8, when it is really a 3.

    Serial number 357070 would have been assembled around November, 1901.

    I looked at the serial number under a magnifier... It certainly looks like a 8 but could be a 3. I'd considered that it might be a 3,

    Your Model 1899 carbine serial number has to be 357070.

    It would have been manufactured around November, 1901.

    It is not unusual for 3's to be misread as 8's with Kragicon serial numbers.

    Attached is a photo of U.S. model 1899 carbine, #349912.

    It is easy to see how the first digit can be misread as an "8". It is a "3".
