1914, 1917, Enfield used by Nazi Waffen SS

At the attached Youtube link is a biography of Heinrich Himmler. At the 44:48 mark in the video is a Nazi Waffen SS soldier using a 1914 or 1917 Enfield. The soldier might have been a member of the Britishicon Free Corps, members of which joined the SS to fight the Soviets.

There's a piece of footage showing the Volkssturm marching out to meet their doom at near war's end wearing civilian attire and carrying captured allied weapons. Not a mixed bag but well equipped. I don't think there was a shortage of allied hardware in their coffers...

Interesting article and well researched. Look at 28:23 the soldier top right in the black & white photo. Looks almost like a Sterling / Sten he's holding!! Can't think of a side magazine fed Germanicon weapon in 1938 like that.

That part of the video does start with Britishicon Free Corps. On the other hand, it also looks like a very much later insert to make up video length.

MP18 Bergman first produced in 1918. Britishicon Lanchester was a copy of the later version. Sten magazines too, as it was already in production for the Lanchester. Sten and MP38/40 magazines should interchange.
