    Question 03 History help please

I got a Springfield Arsenal 03 recently. Arsenal rebuilt with circle a barrel dtd. 9/43, scant stock. Serial num. 847561, anyone know how I can find out where this rifle may have been to?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. If the barrel has an RA stamp over the date, it was installed by a previous civilian owner.

Records on individual rifles are pretty hard to come by.

I’m guessing the circle has an “S” in it, would be Sedgley. Request an SRS check. Maybe you’ll get lucky!

    Your 1903 barrel markings

Dose your barrel have this stamp S in circle ?

I heard not much chance of a USMC rebuild after 1942Attachment 121632
