I also have a Cond rifle that was converted to a NZ MkIV trainer, as well as one of the original 500 Patt 14 trainers, however all mine I restored from barreled actions so much information is lost.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Sadly yes, but I have found that "most" Patt'14 were retired and brought back for WW II. Can you check for a number on the breech and dates on the barrel '27/'29 on the left and 1941-ish on the left?

NZicon received 500 .22 Pattern 1914 No.2's, my example, like most, was rebarreled but the butt marking disc was removed and patched over.

I need pictures of the body markings and the original butt disc for the book of these rifles ONLY. Thanks in advance for sharing but I am trying to see if I can rough out the NZ rack number range for these rifles.

    Many thanks all!
    Lance,

I saw that rifle yesterday. I haven't placed a bid yet because I wanted to check some books first. I would like to bid, but I don't want to compete with anyone on the board. Anyone bid on that? If not, I will.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's already been done. Best man wins at auction...

I bid on the rifle and won. It was a little spendy, but I was willing to pay more because of the antique receiver and NZicon markings.

Lance, if you want more or different pictures of it, I can take some once I receive the rifle.
