    British Rifle No. 7 survey

    Greetings All

For those who own a Britishicon No. 7 Mark I can you look and let me know if you have a solid or tubed barrel. Skennertonicon mentions that there were some tubed examples but does not go into how many vs solid (I have one of each). Can you please let me know what you have and the approximate s/n.

    Thanks!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Keep in mind that some may have originally had solid barrels that have since been tubed, a fairly common repair for rifles that had suffered damage, usually by corrosion.

Is that really a 'common problem' in 22rf training rifles ?
I've not come across any example myself.

I have come across several No7s 8s and 9s with corroded or bulged barrels. Tubing them is a straight forward and economic repair.
