A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. It will be interesting. I suspect if the firearms/ammo was only sold in Montana it would be a slam dunk. If the firearms/ammo are sold in Montana and interstate there may be a problem.

The good news is in the past few years the courts have clamped down on abuses of the "commerce clause" in the constitution. SCOTUS struck down the federal ban on firearms within 1000 feet of a school as an unconstitutional extension of the "commerce clause."

    Soooo we will see.

The feds will say the steel to make the barrel crossed state lines therefore it's a federal issue. The ammunition required for it will have to cross state lines, too. Good luck. Carl

I suppose the Fed's will argue that anyone could make a "Made in Montana" stamp and put it on their product. I don't think it's a valid argument but it wouldn't suprise me if they make the argument.
