No problem no one is born with all the intricacies of the Lee Enfield family in their DNA, it takes time to learn the detail.
The Australians tried to get their No1 Mk3 to function with 7.62 - it wouldn't pass the proof testing so they gave it up as a bad job.

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...
