an old project posted elsewhere - not here

yet , i used to have trouble getting on the old site and posting , this is a very nice change ,

i had a remington M1903A3 that a previous owner made into a A4gery , he screwed up the bolt and the bore was neglected ,

i wanted to shoot it so after some consternation , and discussion on many sites , i came up with this conversion to 22cal ,

i took it apart , did some research on 22cal conversion kits , i enlisted the help of roy boones milling abilities , bought an old 22cal kids rifle bbl , and bought an M22 bolt ,

its never going to be a sniper rifle but it will eliminate the squirrels in my yard in style , i now have a fully functioning rifle that definetly gets attention at the range ,

i thank roy and all those that gave of their knowledge back then , im really happy with it

OH , and it still dresses out with all its kit ,

Bravo! I like it. Big bore style with small bore cost of ammo.

Excellent idea and very nice work

Did you silver solder that sleeve into the old barrel?

Back when I had access to machine tools I refurbished an old Steven's Favorite .22 with a bore sleeve I bought from Numrich. I tapered the bbl, drilled it out and soldered the sleeve in. I could have just bought a new bbl from Numrich but I wanted to work my machinist chops.

I love it. I would love to do that with a low number 03. You just don't see those conversions everyday. Very Nice !
