Per Wikipedia - "Reloadable cartridge cases may be produced by resizing and trimming 9mm Winchester Magnum brass." Can you find that where you are?

Thank you,
I missed that on Wikipedia.
I hope I can find the brass in South Africa, otherwise I will have to get from the USA.
I am very excited with my find

Hi Daan
Sorry for the delay, I had to rush to get it.
It is a Mauser C96 Export.
The interesting, or puzzling part is the stock
It seems as if it has been modified, or made specifically for someone.

Numbers appear to match, a custom stock isn't too unusual for the Germans. Or more a personalized firearm.

I would also rush to get it. Keep us up to date, with the story behind the gun and the purchase, and later the shooting experience.

It has matching numbers throughout including the stock.
At this point the stock has my attention as I would like to find out more about it.
The brass inlays shape suggests to me, maybe Russian, Indian, or Arabian
The letters "PA", I have no idea
The letters JHV suggest the initials of someone
If anyone has any suggestions, please post

The seriously keen might try forming cases from once-fired 5.56 x 45 brass.
For a long time, this was about the only way for obtaining 7.63 Mauser or 7.62 x x25 Tokarev brass.
Lots of trimming, reaming, annealing, expanding, sizing, neck-reaming and final annealing, BUT, with a bit of care and patience, (and a few new tools) a shootable stash of brass will emerge,.
Seriously, how many hundred cases do you want?.
Yes, the "rim" diameter will be a little undersized, but the 7,63 Mauser AND Luger cases I helped make from 5.56 / .223 brass back in the late 1970s. seemed to work just fine. Much better than having NO ammo at all or spending silly money for collector's packets of Kynoch or Eley (maybe RWS) factory ammo, that used weird-sized Berdan primers.
Not much different from making 8mm Nambu brass from .30 Remington cases or, more usually, .30-30 cases with the rim area lathe-turned appropriately. 7mm Baby Nambu cases from .30 Carbine brass, anyone?

A long time ago in a country not too far away my Grandfather owned a M712 Schnellfeuer. After he passed away his small but historically significant firearm collection went to his son, my uncle. If memory serves me correct the machine pistol had to be turned in to the Government for destruction but we were allowed to keep the ammunition. I was given an unopened box of ammunition which fifty years on has experienced some decay despite never being opened and always carefully stored in my display case.
