    Blank firing attachments, neat. You almost never see those in use on a '14.

    I had a set when I had a real M14icon back years ago too. Hard to find both parts as we only had the barrel attachment and no breech shield. Many collectors here didn't even know there's two pieces. But with an M14 if you don't use the shield, you'd get flash and unburned powder and possibly the case hitting you at velocity in the face.

    The breech shield slips into the clip guide and locks in with a spring loaded plunger. To remove it you need to use a pointed object to depress the same plunger.
