The 9mm carbines never really made a dent here, the Ruger PC Carbine has sure filled a lot of spots since it came out though. I just can't see why some are idolizing it though here. They want as much as $2000CDN for one now.

I never bought a 9mm rilfe because there are a bunch of other rifles I would rather have. Although the Henry Homesteader 9mm in the American Walnut stock has been a temptation.

Looks OK, the model with the can would be neat. Mages look specific which is a deliberate blade to us instead of making it take a choice of mags like Ruger.

I picked up one of the Rugers, as I ran into a deal on one. It's fun, and cheap to shoot, but way too heavy for what it is. It's basically an up-sized 10-22. I made things worse by cobbling a PPsh 41 stock onto it. That is really heavy. I did get the necessary conversion bits cheap, and can switch it back to the original chassis version in minutes, so I don't feel too guilty.

Yes it is. That's the blowback mass of the bolt at fault.

Ruger can only use its native mags and its adapter for Glock 17 &18 Mags. The Henery comes with its native mag and adapters Glock, Sig Sauer, or Smith & Wesson magazines. Not that any of that would matter to me because I don't own a Glock, and doubt I would use any of my handgun mags with the rifle. I tend to buy mags just for the firearm.

Any blow-back is going to be heavier than an M1 carbine, even a trimmed-down AR9. I have a trimmed-down AR9 that weighs in a tad over 6-pounds, but you can still feel the difference.

Well...yes. If you actually compare you can find a couple others that adapt easily. The M&P S&W mags go right in.

You may need to add the mag catch hole but that's nothing. Like changing mags between PT99 and Beretta 92/96. Just a bit of careful work. Also the hi cap Glock mags and drums make those Rugers way better.

I have a couple of Marlin 9mm camp carbines for sale here. They are pretty fool proof and use S&W magazines. I had to replace the old plastic buffers in the rear of the receivers. They're good to go.

Those were a neat gun. They became restricted decades ago like the M1 carbines or I'd have wanted a .40. I think they made a .40 and a 9mm. Heavy but a real nice little carbine.
