    Best Place to Sell

    Greetings!
I've been collecting for over 50 years and its time now to divest myself of some of the things I have collected, e.g. cartridge belts, packs, first aid, canteens, etc. Where is the best place to sell these items at a reasonable price for both parties involved. I have used Ebay but you get hit for 15% there and the purchaser has to pay sales tax. Any input would be greatly appreciated. What I am trying to move right now is US WWI and WWII items.
Best regards, H.T. Rea, Katy, Texas

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... Besides here…. Is the site where you have your 43 Remington Rand not an option? They have a category that should meet your needs. GB does as well.

Some people like facebook trader as they don't charge a fee. Like eBay, you have to be careful not to infringe their rules on what you are not allowed to sell.

If you want to slowly divest yourself of your collection I'd start renting tables at gun shows which are a great place to buy and sell militaria. In Houston you've got one next weekend and one in Pasadena in September.

Probably the best venue is to set up a booth at the next Museum of the American G.I. annual military show at College Station.

Living History Weekend - Museum of The American G.I.

The next biggest event is the Camp Mabry Living History Weekend in Austin. They used to allow vendors, but I haven't been there for a spell so check first.

Camp Mabry Living History Weekend The Texas Military Forces Museum

Lastly, try some of the auction houses in your area which can be found on Texas HiBid:

I wouldn't totally dismiss eBay as I think it's ok for certain things.
