While on vacation in the UK, we visited the seaside town of Seaham; on the North East coast of England icon

. It is home to a magnificent statue to celebrate the end of WW1.
Known to the locals as "Tommy"; but titled Eleven 01 by the artist Ray Lonsdale!

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. It appears to portray the feeling perfectly of the guys after the word for "Cease fire, unload" was given.

That's a heck of a piece of work. Only a pity he couldn't spiral-wrap the puttees. The way the face is done with a CNC plasma cutter is very clever. Corten steel presumably.
