A friend who graduated from West Point during Ranger training got some infection on his feet during the swamp march that never cleared up

Some of these infections take a lifetime not to sort out. My wife caught 'something' on one toenail in the DRC that took about 20 years to go away, despite many experts and specialists.

My section commander in basic had been on the ranger course in 1971 or 72, first Canadianicon in decades so he wasn't failing no matter what. He came back with a skin disorder that the military couldn't figure out and they were going to release him. His wife and her mother managed to cure it after a time and saved his dismissal.
