327th Glider Infantry Regiment. I think there's a Garandicon in this picture.

Horsa Glider. They built several exact reproductions for the movie A Bridge Too Far but the Britishicon Civil Aviation Authority refused to certify them to be flown in any manner. Is that saying something?

Expediency of war I think Bob no time to really fluff out the finer points as long as it could fly & glide to get the feet on the ground a one shot apparatus of war.
Pretty sure the occupants thoughts were focused elsewhere on the flight but have not heard any dialog from the pilots and passengers of exactly how the Horsa's reacted in the air!

What are you seeing that identifies this as an MB and not a GPW?

Looking forward to Bill's response. He's kinda the local Jeep guy.

I restored a 1942 Ford GPW and became fairly acquainted with the differences between the two. All the clues that distinguish a Willys MB and a Ford GPW aren't visible in this pic, at least to my eyes.

Two things, there are no index holes in the rear cross member and look close at the door strap eyes. Willys MBs are mounted vertical and Ford GPWs are mounted horizontal.
