Springfield Armory receivers are available off and on from Champion's Choice in TN. The standard M1Aicon receiver is listed at $575. Rear lug receivers are slightly higher.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Why not look for an older rifle in good condition. Early 80's rifles will have GI parts. TRW bolts and H&R op-rods and the like. I bought mine new but you can still find them. I saw one at the Cow Place for $1200 early this year.

    Cheers

What would be a good price for a USGI M14icon parts kit minus barrel and bolt?

I just did a web search and saw that a company is selling this kit for $675 is that a good price? I am not sure how much bolts or barrels are going for.

    Thanks

I can sympathize - I was stung as well. I bought a SA first, not second about five years ago at Perry, and used the parts from the late MKS. I wonder what BATF did with the receivers? They were a bit apologetic when the came to collect the receiver.

Shouldn't we be considering Poly Tech??????? Their receivers are forged like the expensive LRB receivers. They can be bought for around $1000 for the whole gun. The bolt will have to be replaced with a hardened GI bolt but reading user reviews folks are saying all else works very well and are extremely accurate even with the Chinese barrel.
