I'm slightly late to this. I like the look of the stock. I don't have Wayne's book available to me right now (traveling) but I don't think the butt plate is correct for a Egyptian contract. On mine it's a brass like material and it looks much like an Enfield butt plate. On the century made repros I believe they were made of plastic. I'm wondering if this stock was originally on a different contract FN-49. This might explain why the stock looks original but not "correct" looking to you.

I just remembered too that on the Egyptian contract that there was a cleaning kit available in a trap in the butt plate. Not sure if this cutout is on your rifle underneath your butt plate.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Thanks. It is definitely a CAI replacement stock. I've decided to just be on the lookout for a decent original Egyptian replacement stock.
