I see the Western Australia buy-back program ended yesterday. Were there options for you to retain your hunting rifles without becoming a criminal today?

Legislation will be imposed in March 2025 as the new Firearms Act which had 490 changes of which only 10 odd were debated on before they rammed it through as they have the power in the upper & lower houses.
The real killer one will be the new Regulations of which no one has heard much about I've heard snippets from an AFP member but apart from that all is quiet so foreboding is the catch word for allot of us.
I got a good burst from the arms & armor society and even the collectors license will be a very challenging episode to embark on as one has to be a student of arms doing talks, power points etc.
Cartridge collecting is going the same way they are imposing even more stringent rules onto us a whisper I heard was no packet ammo, singles only with a complete breakdown of that cartridges history, no modern ammo ! even some modern stuff is 50 years old now.
Anyway all we can do is sit and see what they actually implement, we had a DV stabbing here in Perth last week the male died from a leg wound inflicted by his female partner (Femoral artery of vein) so disarming us licensed firearm owners really saved this person.
Qld are introducing a knife policy your not allowed to have a pocket knife on you or blade so how are farmers going to go when in their townships plus abattoir workers I always took my knives home after work to sharpen.
Watch this space you chaps are lucky with your 2nd amendment in fact your whole constitution pretty soon Western Australia's flag will be red with a yellow hammer & yellow sickle on there.
Makes a mockery of all our service personnels sacrifices so we could have freedoms this mob do not care.
Here is a snippet for you our politicians after serving 2 terms in parliament can retire on 80% of their wage for the rest of their life not subject to a means test and can get another job on top of that, jobs for the boys..........

Do your overlords destroy all these items, abusing even more public funds, or do they at least attempt to export and recover costs?

You imply, by asking this question, that those woke politicians might be intelligent. They are not. I bet everything goes wasted, and it will also cost destroying these gats.

They may not be completely stupid, but usually have a distinctly different agenda than the general populace.
Most governments of this ilk are more than happy to throw away vast sums of money (that was never theirs in the first place), if it furthers their own aims.
Having armed peasants running about domestically makes them nervous. Of course, they're more than happy to arm said peasants and send them abroad to put them in harm's way.
If this observation is regarded as too political, please feel free to erase it.

I'm so sorry cinders. I could not imagine having to turn in any of my beloved firearms. A few my fathers, a few other family members that have passed that I inherited. That is some true BS what is happening to you

I say very little about this. I feel for you though. We're right on the edge of the very same thing. Already have had lots taken from us.

They all apparently get the chopper or crusher, you will all remember the buy back that John Winston Howard unconstitutional enforcement onto the Australian LFAO's after the Port Arthur incident.
Seems we have turned full circle again.
