Should be mid to late 1918. I suspect John can narrow the range.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Yes. That's how I dated it and declared it fake. C 122 dates to 10-18. The year first digit has been filed off and re-stamped. And I'll bet I know who did it!

Why in the name of neptune would someone make up an RIA barrel with a late 1920's date? Weird.

"Logic" does not always explain one's actions.

There's an internet auction right now which lists a Rock Island barrel dated 10-19. I didn't know that RIA made any 10-19 dated barrels. But I suppose they now have. They "get by with a little help from their friends."
