    Refinished a 1944 Lithgow No1Mk3*

    Hi everyone,

Just finished un-bubba-izing this 1944 Lithgowicon. I didn't refinish the nose cap and band that went on it, I will ask the owner of this rifle (local acquaintance) if he'd rather have me refinish the metal bits. If so, then the question is out - would a 1944 Lithgow have blued, parkerized or painted nose cap and middle band? I can't parkerize the bits in my shop that's for sure!

And, colour matching was a bit of a long process on the wood parts. Even then I'm not super happy with the result. I do have to find alcohol-based dyes. Anyone near Ottawa, Canadaicon would know where I'd find some...

    Cheers!

    Lou
