    E-Bay auction - Legit or Fake - Rock-Ola stock?

    Gentlemen,

I'd appreciate opinions as to this auction: M1icon Carbine Rock-ola highwood stock with cartoush Item number: 300307974926.

    Is the stock legit?

Is this a "Riverside George" alter-ego?

I hate to say this, but I tend to be skeptical of anything coming out of southern California, because of this well-known character.

    Thanks,

    Dom

Chestnut Ridge Red, fresh oil in the crevices and an awful try at reproducing the early RMC stamp.

My question is where did the base stock come from? It isn't original, and I'm not a huge fan of the grain on this piece of wood, but the pattern is not bad. Who is making high-wood stocks?

    Dom,
    It's George's better/worse half.
    Stay away.......!

    P.W. Browning,
I've been seeing NEW Hi-wood ovals being sold for about $175+ on Ebay.

Thank you all for your comments!

    Gentlemen,

Thanks to all who responded to my posting. When the clues are identified, the answer is there - it's a fake. Always thought that there was something suspicious about this vendor, and now I have it confirmed.

    Regards to all,

    Dom

I always look at the "C" the real one has squared corners, found one on a underwood at the CMPicon wed. w/I stock. There was another guy from Idaho
that found a type 1 Barrel band. Sure pays to stand in line on wed.

    Hi FTD1167,
When you and your son showed me your carbine with the Rock-ola stock, I was so mesmerized by the condition of the wood I can't remember what the manufacturer of the carbine was. Was it an Underwood? Anyways, was fun to meet you guys. We hope to make it back down there some time. So fun to be there with like minded collecters. My carbines should get back up here this week. The excitement builds all over again.
    Regards,
    Randy

Cracks me up how they partially sand them down to make them look worn.
