    Sling Rivets

Picked up a 1907 sling yesterday at a local Mom & Pop gunshow. It is a H&P 1918/W.E.H. in great condition for $40. One of the hooks has a cracked rivet. Does anyone know the proper size for one of these? Also where to get them? I mean is there some one that makes a repair kit for the slings or just go to a hardware store?

If you have a Tandy Leather in your area they would have the best selection. I think it is a 1/8" rivet. Some Tack shops have them as well. Best thing would be to remove the rivet and measure the hole diameter in the hook and get the proper diameter.

The shaft is 1/8 but the newer rivets do not have the correct size head with the taper.
