    Road to the cabin

Just for a bit of fun I thought I would show you guys part of the road to the cabin. My son and I went up this weekend to get ready for the season. The road the pictures are showing is Hwy.12 between Lytton and Lillooet, my son was driving and I was leaning out the window taking the pictures. The pictures were taken moving as it's not a really good place to stop for long, this time of year is when the rocks come tumbling down as the ice melts. That's the Fraser river if you are wondering.

    Ken,
Reminds me of some of the back roads of West Virginia but they are still dirt/logging roads and are not paved yet. So I guess yours would be considered modern. Looks like rough country but even it has its beauty. Thanks for the photos and the short sight seeing trip. Feel free to send more if you have them.

    Hi Hal,

You know this country,eh. The pictures shown are across from Texas Creek and down from Fountain Lake. We are at Pavilion Lake which is about 15 - 20 minutes past the turn-off to Fountain Valley off Hwy. 99.

Here is a picture of the lake from this weekend, the ice is just coming off. As you well know this was a rough winter and ice off is about 10 - 15 days late. Pavilion like Fountain is about half a mile up so the lakes shouldn't turn over this year until the first part of June.

    Saw This From The Train

My wife and I rode the BC Railway from North Vancouver to Prince George several years ago. I remember scenery just like this as we rode along the Frasier River. Beautiful!
