$100 a box .380s

Was that $100 for 3, 100 rd boxes of .380s??? That is not a bad deal for these times. The Walmart down here still has no handgun ammo. Still got a hand printed piece of paper on the ammo cabinet at Walmart that says handgun ammo (by caliber) is not in stock but on order. Maybe people down here shoot more. I hear near and distant shooting most everyday and more so on weekends.

Wisconsin Cartridge Company (www.wisconsincartridge.com) has .380acp ammo at $31.50/100. Even though the ammo is reloads, still a good price, considering the "political climate".

It's caused mostly by hoarding - everyone is out to get whatever they can
(I plead guilty too) since they are concerned that the political climate will put some limit on ammo purchases. This could be either through taxes on ammo, registration to buy ammo, etc. I've seen this all before (as many of you have) and as previous posts indicated the shortage will dissappear and I agree -- but higher prices are here to stay.

Yes, I've read the Wisconsin Cartridge attachment you addressed above. The attachment doesn't indicate that they won't supply ammunition, but merely that orders UNDER 250 rounds will be filled first. The thread began with .380acp ammunition being a dollar a round. The attachment refers to 100 rounds of .308 ammunition that might never be filled. The .380acp and .308 are two totally different types of ammunition.

I was merely suggesting another source for a very hard-to-get ammunition type.

I'm just glad I saved all my .380 empties, and have plenty of components on hand to keep reloading them.

I understand that you were citing another source. It's just that the statement implies a serious backlog and that was written several months ago. Buyers should be aware of a possible long lead time if placing an order. Same goes for Gad Custom as Bernold is so far backed up his head is spinning. He does get the orders out but it's taking him a couple extra weeks to do it. The shortages of reloading components are hitting the reloading houses almost as hard as it's hitting the rest of us.

Friendship/Adams isn't very far from Petenwell and Castle Rock on the eastern side. If I get up there for some walleye fishing this year I may have to check them out when I head into town.

.380 is the only ammo getting exspensiv. Sportsman Guide is selling federal .223 at $999.99 fpr a 1000 round case. Abuck a round . If you belong to thier club it is 95 cents a rd. Here on Long Island one dealer is selling .308 for 42.95 abox of 20. However he has to make a living as he is paying 31 for the box. Another dealer has LC 30-06 for 12 buck for a 20 rd. box maximum purchase 5 boxes.
