OLD FN .380 ammo

Hello all I am Newbie to this site and have question. I came across numerous FN .380 ammo that my dad had. I don't know what will shoot it. I don't think it for a 38 special and definitely not for the new .38 ACP autos. So what will shoot this round. If I offer for sale locally I want to at least be able to tell what it is safe to shoot it in. By the way it is in good condition a not corroded. Is it safe to shoot? Kbars

Without a bit more information or pictures, identifying your ammunition relies on guesswork.

It just so happens that I have some ammunition made by FN and marked .380

This ammunition is made for the British Enfield revolver used during WW2 and after. It has a similar configuration to the 38 Smith and Wesson round but I do not know if it is safe for use in weapons other than the Enfield revolver.

might be S&W .38, do not try in .38 Special.
the cartridge is rimmed. Is yours?
Brit revolvers and S&W were chamberbered for this round.

Is this the rimmed .380" revolver ctg with a FMJ bullet commonly called .380 Enfield?
It was intended for Enfield No2 Revolvers, Webley MkIV, S&W MP revolvers and other solid frame pistols. It is too heavily loaded for small top break pocket revolvers.
