    4th Annual Veterans Appreciation Day

For any veterans and their families in the mid-Maryland area we are having our Fourth Annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 30th, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the Izaak Walton League of America-Wildlife Achievement Chapter facility near Damascus, Maryland. The address is 26430 Mullinix Mill Road, Mt Airy, Maryland 21771. Take Route 108 East out of Damascus for 2 miles and turn left on Mullinix Mill Road. Take Mullinix Mill Road 1 1/2 miles and turn left into the IWLA driveway.

Military Veterans from WW II to Iraq will have the opportunity to enjoy the comradeship of fellow veterans and their families in a friendly atmosphere at the IWLA-WAC. The day will be filled with static displays including military vehicles, firearms, and equipment.

WW II reenactments will also take place throughout the day. Reenactment activities will include exhibitions and interactive displays for adults and children.

Veterans will also have the opportunity to shoot at no cost to themselves firearms from WW II through Vietnam to Iraq on the rifle and pistol ranges. Caliber .22 rifles and pistols will also be available for use by the veterans and their families. All necessary hearing and eye protection will be available for all participants. Please DO NOT bring any firearms (or ammunition) as they will be provided at the range.

Last, but not least, food and refreshments will also be available throughout the day at no cost for veterans. Everything from coffee, juices, sodas, and donuts to hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, cookies, and chips will be provided.

    PM me with any questions.
